Pope Benedict XVI may not be Leo the Great, but in his Epiphany sermon the current Pope addresses some very important issues. The Pope draws attention to a number of pressing ethical issues on the horizon, namely the ecological crisis, the financial meltdown, and the waring conflict of religions. If these issues aren’t in need of some epiphinating, I am not sure what are.
I also found this sermon by the post-colonial theologian Kwok Pui Lan very moving.

What a beautiful and thought provoking sermon. The thoughts and points made by Kwok Pui Lan are indeed very moving and very appropriate for this season. I pray that God’s light will continue to shine upon us and transform us into what we yet can be. As I ask for an receive guidance may I then have what it takes to incorporate it into my life and living. There is still so much to learn about love and loving but we must keep trying to get it right, so much so that it is the really natural thing in our being. Love incorporates feelings but our feelings often lead us astray. Love is mostly action. Continuing to love the unlovable in ourselves and others. May God continue to work through us and others to bring new insight into our lives.
